China News Paris, June 6 One person was killed and 15 others injured in extreme thunderstorms that hit many parts of France from Thursday to Friday local time. French Interior Minister Jean-Yair Darmanen said Thursday that he would propose to the government that the region be declared a natural disaster.

The French meteorological agency issued an orange alert for thunderstorms in as many as 65 provinces. The thunderstorm also caused other damage, many homes in France without power, as of Friday morning, the French electricity authority said there were still 15,000 homes without power.
