Although the existing lightning protection measures of the Palace Museum can record the number of lightning strikes by lightning rods, they cannot record the intensity of lightning and the accurate time of receiving lightning, and do not have the function of real-time alarm when lightning strikes occur.

Lightning real-time monitoring system is under construction, will be able to record, store, analysis and management of lightning flash time and intensity of flash, flash frequency, by lightning control system has been established, the lightning event occurs, can provide early warning service quickly and accurately, and according to the data accumulation and analysis the laws of the palace lightning.
